Who We Are!
Faith Fellowship Church of God was birthed during the evangelizing movement in 1925 and joined the Pentecostal movement of the Church of God Cleveland, Tennessee. Our early roots allowed us to begin meeting in homes prior to buying our church building on Elm Street in Struthers.
As the church began to grow, God began speaking to Pastor Arlie Dorman and Pastor Jonathan Mitchell about the future of Faith Fellowship. In 2015, God opened the door for Faith Fellowship to buy our current location at 388 E. Midlothian in Youngstown, Ohio. Since the purchase of this building, God has allowed the body of Christ to love those in the community surrounding the church.
Our Current Pastor, Stephen Turner, has a heart to see God use Faith Fellowship as an extension of Christ, with a passion for reaching the lost. His heart is to see lives transformed by God and have the church be a beacon of hope to those hurting and in need. As we are approaching our 100th birthday celebration of Faith Fellowship, the desire is to have the church be an open vessel for God to use as He sees fit.
We Desire to be a HOT GLUE church.
Humble
James 4:10 tells us to "humble yourself in the sight of the Lord." It is because of this that we desire to walk exposed before God.
Open
We cannot be overcomers if we don't walk in our testimony. That means the mess that God delivers us from. We invite people to come as they are, open and ready to see what God wants to do in their life.
Transparent
We know that human nature is to only show the good in your life. But the truth is the church is a place for the broken. God knows all about you and what you are going through. So we encourage one another to be unmasked and real with each other as we seek our creature.
Grow Closer to God
James 4:8 (NLT) says, “Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.”
The truth is that we are all sinners needed to look up to heaven, where God says, if you would simply come to me, you will find rest and hope. By growing closer to God, we hold onto the promise that He will come close to us, and we will see our lives set free from all the mess that the world attaches to us.
Love One Another
Jesus said to His followers that to fulfill the entire law of Moses we must Love God with everything and Love our neighbors. (Mark 12:31) It is our mission to fulfill that by loving one another with an understanding that we are imperfect, but in the pursuit of perfection through Christ.
It is through this Love that we are able to let those who don't know Jesus see the difference in the hope that we have, because Jesus loved us enough to pay for our sins.
United as The Body of Christ
1 Corinthians 1:10 reminds us that as "brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought." The mission of the church can only be fulfilled with a unity that we find in Christ Jesus.
Equip Believers
We know that walking a Christian life is not easy. 2 Timothy 3:17 tells us "that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work." It is our mission that everyone will be equipped to be able to stand through test, trails, and situations with the reassurance that we can stand firm on the foundation that Jesus set before us when he died of the cross and better yet when he rose from the dead.
OUR VALUES
The values we believe in
Verbal Inspiration of the Bible
The WHOLE Bible is inspired by God through the Holy Spirit and written by men who faithful served God
The Triune God
In one God, eternally existing in three persons; namely, The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
Jesus Christ is the Son of God
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
We are all sinners
That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
Romans 3:23-24
We need a New Birth
That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. Sanctification is subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ' through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
Call to Holiness
We are called to be Holy by God.
(1 Peter 1:15-16) This is the standard of living God wants for all His people.
Holy Spirit Baptism
The initial evidence of baptism is speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance
Water Baptism
A believer makes a public declaration by immersion into water, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
Premillennial Second Coming of Jesus
We believe that Jesus will first come to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Then secondly, Jesus will reign on the earth for a thousand years.
